Top of the Line Craft Newsletter Lower East Side
I won’t lie, this newsletter is late. I’ve been genuinely angry all week-really, all year-which I guess is a perk of it still being the first week in January? I’m upset about the general state of the world, but not the ASC nominations. They were good. “Train Dreams” really is beautiful, and IndieWire clearly loves it. We also admire Autumn Durald arkapaw’s work on “Sinners.”
The Art Directors Guild and Casting Society nominations were engaging, too. Both had a much wider range of categories. The Casting Society Awards aren’t hugely helpful for predicting the new casting oscar, and the Oscar shortlist already came out, but any guild that recognizes “The Naked Gun” is the best. Congratulations to the Casting Society on their excellent taste.
Hopefully, we’ll be back to our regular Tuesday schedule next week to dissect the Golden Globes.
