Coca-Cola issued a recall for a⁢ limited ‍supply of Topo Chico‌ mineral water ‍due to possible⁢ contamination‍ with pseudomonas bacteria. The recall affects 16.9-ounce glass bottles‍ of the popular mineral⁣ water brand.

The⁣ company stated ⁢that‍ the affected Topo Chico products ⁣have been removed from approximately 40 retail locations​ across Arizona, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas. Coca-Cola emphasized that no⁤ illnesses⁢ have been reported in ‍connection with the product recall.

Costco also posted a customer notice regarding the recall, indicating that 18-packs of the mineral water⁢ sold at select Texas and Louisiana warehouses between May 20 and May 29 might be affected.

Sam’s⁤ Club locations also carried some‍ of the perhaps affected Topo Chico mineral water.

According to the ⁣Costco notice, Pseudomonas aeruginosa can occur naturally‍ in water sources, ‌including mineral water.‍ The notice‍ also⁣ stated that individuals with compromised immune systems⁤ could‌ experience minor health issues from consuming mineral water containing the bacteria.However, the risk to healthy individuals is considered very low.

A Coca-Cola spokesperson ⁤advised consumers ‍who purchased products⁣ with lot numbers 11A2543, 12A2543, or 13A2541 ‍to return them to the ⁣point of purchase for an exchange or refund. Consumers can also contact Coca-Cola directly at 1-800-GET-COKE.
