Tori Spelling, the 52-year-old actress known for her role in Beverly Hills, 90210, was hospitalized alongside seven children following a serious car accident in Temecula, California, on April 2, 2026.

The incident occurred shortly before 6:00 p.m. When Spelling was driving an SUV. According to reports from TMZ and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, the collision happened after another driver allegedly sped through a red light and struck Spelling’s vehicle.

At the time of the crash, Spelling was traveling with four of her own children and three friends of her children. Law enforcement sources indicated that Spelling may have avoided more severe injuries for herself and the passengers by attempting a last-second maneuver to move the vehicle out of the way of the oncoming car.

Emergency Response and Injuries

Emergency responders assessed all involved parties at the scene in the Southern California city, which is located approximately 85 miles east of Los Angeles. Authorities found two vehicles that had sustained significant damage; unverified images showed one car with severe front-end damage and an SUV, believed to be Spelling’s, with missing lights, bumper parts and undercarriage components.

Following the initial scene assessment, Spelling and the seven children were transported to a local hospital in three separate ambulances. They were treated for a variety of injuries, including:

  • Concussions
  • Contusions
  • Cuts
  • Bruises

Footage obtained by TMZ showed Spelling speaking with officers at the scene, appearing animated as she described the events leading up to the collision. While the incident remains under investigation, no arrests were made at the time of the accident.

Family Context

Spelling shares five children with her ex-husband, Dean McDermott: Liam Aaron, 19; Stella Doreen, 17; Hattie Margaret, 14; Finn Davey, 13; and Beau Dean, 9. While it has been confirmed that four of her children were in the vehicle, it has not been specified which four were present during the crash.

Family Context

Spelling and McDermott were married for 17 years before separating in June 2023.

Previous Incidents

This is not the first time the actress and podcast host of misSPELLING has been involved in a frightening vehicular accident with her children. In 2011, Spelling crashed her car into a school wall while driving her two eldest children to school.

At the time, Spelling claimed she was being chased by paparazzi. She described the event on Twitter, stating that she was trying to get away from a photographer and took down whole wall of school. She further alleged that the photographer continued to attempt to take pictures of her and her children, Stella and Liam—who were 3 and 4 years old at the time—after the crash occurred.
