Toronto Seniors Celebrate Christmas with Festive Banquet and Holiday Cheer
Toronto, OH – The Toronto Sunrise Seniors spread holiday cheer on Friday, gathering for a special Christmas banquet at the Karaffa Recreation Center.President Barbara Pritts welcomed a room full of members and special guests,including Mayor John Parker and his wife Tracey,jeff and Becky foster,Shirley Rebich,Shayla Woolmaker,Laurie Gorney,and Tammy Allen.
The festive evening marked a warm welcome for new members Jackie Collins and Mary Ann Cordier.
Assistant Chaplain mary Lou Emery offered a blessing before guests enjoyed a delicious meal catered by connie’s Corner. Pritts expressed her gratitude to the December kitchen committee – Tracey Wade, Diana Hooper, and Ruth White – for their hard work and the lovely Christmas-themed table decorations.
Looking ahead, Pritts announced the January kitchen committee: Hank and Laura Sheets, Mary Jane Tottka, Patti Losey, and Jackie Porter.
During the health report, members remembered one of their own. Co-Chaplain Gloria boley then shared a unique rendition of “The Night Before Christmas,” a version where Christ returns, adding a special spiritual touch to the evening.
The group expressed their appreciation to the Parkers and Fosters for their generous donations.
Adding to the festive spirit, several members won table decorations, including Sandi Radvansky, Brenda Fetty, Allen, Karen Martin, Joe Radvansky, Ethyl Stevens, Porter, Mike murphy, Bonnie Wilson, losey, and Boley. Betty Mossor won a gift card from Paul’s Pizza, a donation from Mayor Parker. Dave Devore and Kenny Emery were the lucky winners of the 50/50 drawing.Rich Grimm provided heartwarming entertainment, serenading the group with beloved Christmas songs.
After the banquet, the seniors moved to the meeting room for a lively game of bingo. Winners included Marsha McConnell, Dora oiler, Jerry Cornish, Mossor, Mary Ann Landerfield, Bea Lytle, Louie Nelson, Boley, Rex Mossor, and Devore.
The Toronto Sunrise Seniors will reconvene for their next meeting on january 10th.
