MANILA – A highly anticipated charity ⁤boxing match featuring Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief ⁢gen. Nicolas Torre ⁢III and acting Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte has successfully raised PHP15 million in cash donations as of Saturday night, with⁣ a significant influx of goods also contributing too ⁤relief efforts for communities devastated by recent calamities.

The event, held⁤ at the ⁢Rizal⁤ Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, ⁢July 27, 2025, aimed to⁢ provide aid to thousands of Filipinos affected by widespread flooding and heavy rains. These will all be given to our kababayan ‍affected by the calamity.” He added, “I was‍ also surprised with the ⁤flow of support. But I am ⁤thankful to our kababayan who ⁤responded to our call because this event, this charity boxing match, is really for entertainment because of ⁢what happened in the days.”

The ‍”Boxing for a Cause” initiative, which included four undercard fights showcasing boxers from‍ the PNP boxing⁣ team, drew thousands of ‍spectators by Sunday ⁤morning, ‍with many more eager to enter ‍the packed⁣ venue.The event ⁢underscored⁢ the PNP’s commitment to⁤ community welfare,leveraging a unique platform‍ to rally support for those in need.Among ⁤the distinguished attendees were ⁣Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla, National Police Commission vice Chairman Rapahelm Calinisan, and several senior PNP officials, all⁤ present to ⁢lend thier support to the cause.The charity bout⁤ was initially‍ conceived following a public challenge issued⁤ by Baste⁢ Duterte during one of his podcast episodes, where⁢ he⁣ directly addressed and critiqued the⁤ PNP chief.The ensuing ⁣challenge evolved ‍into a philanthropic endeavor, transforming a potential confrontation into a powerful exhibition of solidarity and support for disaster-stricken Filipinos.
