Tottenham Suffer Seventh EPL Defeat Against Lyster City

Spurs Slump Continues as Lyster Escapes Relegation Zone

In a gripping encounter at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Tottenham Hotspur slumped to a 1-2 defeat against Lyster City in the 23rd round of the English Premier League (EPL). This loss marks Hotspur’s seventh defeat and fourth in the league, dropping them to 15th place with 24 points.

Lyster City, meanwhile, clawed their way out of the relegation zone with a hard-fought victory. Now on 17 points, they have won four games, drawn five, and lost 14, moving two steps up from 19th place.

The South Korean international had a chance to break the deadlock in the 17th minute but his shot was blocked by the Lyster goalkeeper. Later, his left-footed cross-strike hit the crossbar in the 31st minute.

Another Korean, Lee Min-huk, who joined Hotspur from K League 1’s Kongwan FC at the end of last year, missed out on his second prospective debut, not making the substitute list. Anthony Georgiou came off the bench instead.

Hotspur took the lead in the 33rd minute through a Pedro Neto cross-header, but Lyster staged a remarkable comeback in the second half. Veteran striker Jamie Boyde equalized, and Kevin Kanas;’s reverse goal put Lyster ahead in the 68th minute.

Despite introducing Harry Kane and Dele Alli in the second half, Hotspur couldn’t find an equalizer and fell to their seventh loss of the season. The game ended 1-2 in favor of Lyster.

Meanwhile, in another EPL fixture, Brentford, with Kim Gi-hee on the bench, secured a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace. The Korean defender debuted for Brentford in the EPL within 18 months, making him the youngest Korean to do so. However, his team has drawn the last four league games.
