The 88th Tour de suisse began Sunday with riders rolling out of Küssnacht for a neutralized start. The opening stage, a 129-kilometer race, mirrors the route contested earlier in the day by the women’s peloton. Racing began with immediate attacks as teams sought to establish an early breakaway in the Tour de Suisse.
UAE Team Emirates-XRG’s João Almeida enters as a prominent favorite for the overall title. Almeida, along with Swiss cyclist Jan Christen, aims to continue thier team’s success after Adam Yates’s victory last year.
