A tourist visiting Singapore had his Louis Vuitton bag stolen at Gardens by the Bay on October 5 after leaving it behind his group during a light show at Supertree Grove. The victim, who described himself as a 195cm muscular man on the social media platform Xiaohongshu, recovered the bag twenty minutes later following a foot chase, though several items inside remained missing.
The incident occurred at approximately 9 p.m. after the group watched the Supertree Grove light show. While the group huddled to discuss their plans, the bag was left behind them. The tourist heard hurried footsteps, turned around, and discovered the bag was gone.
The Chase and Recovery at Gardens by the Bay
The victim tracked the wireless earphones left inside his bag and headed toward an exit to find the culprit. I ran into someone and raised my hand because I wanted to ask him for directions. He immediately took off running,
the tourist recalled. He gave chase, wrestled a paper bag from the man, and found his Louis Vuitton bag inside.

The suspect, wearing a black headscarf, managed to escape into nearby bushes where thick foliage obscured his path. A young woman nearby shouted directions after the fleeing man. The tourist sustained blisters on his left foot during the pursuit. While the bag was recovered, items missing included his passport, Pocket camera, livestreaming equipment, and a sock he had tossed inside the bag earlier. An eyewitness reported seeing the fleeing man carry the Pocket camera while other belongings were allegedly stuffed into the missing sock.
