Traffic Inspector and Stripper Charged with Selling Ecstasy at Electronic Music Festivals
Municipal Worker, Girlfriend, and Stripper Charged in synthetic Drug Ring
Rosario, Argentina – A municipal traffic inspector, his girlfriend, and a stripper were indicted Monday by federal prosecutors for allegedly running a synthetic drug operation, including sales at electronic music festivals. The inspector was ordered held in pretrial detention for 90 days, while his girlfriend and the stripper were placed under house arrest.
Prosecutors Santiago Alberdi and Franco Benetti presented evidence that the inspector and the stripper, identified as Víctor C., had been using the messaging app Telegram since September to coordinate sales of ecstasy and MDMA crystal. They allegedly operated under the alias “Willy Wonka,” a reference to the fictional character from the children’s book and film series “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
One method involved delivery services. Federal agents observed the inspector and his girlfriend, Eliana C., driving a Chevrolet Cruze to designated meeting points to pick up buyers. After a brief drive around the block, the buyers were dropped off at the same location. This tactic was reportedly used in early to mid-November.
The second method involved face-to-face sales at electronic music festivals, where the third suspect, Marcelo V.,allegedly participated. Prosecutors told Judge Carlos Vera Barros that multiple sales occurred this way, as well as at the inspector’s home in the Triángulo neighborhood, where he was arrested Friday following a raid.
During the raid on the stripper’s residence, authorities seized 448 ecstasy pills, 2 grams of MDMA crystal, and 11 grams of MDMA powder. The estimated street value of the confiscated drugs exceeds 9 million argentine pesos.
The case highlights the growing concern over the proliferation of synthetic drugs and their distribution through various channels, including online platforms and social gatherings.
