Nevzat Bahtiyar, a suspect in the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran, has made a shocking confession, shedding new light on the case. According to a report by the daily Sözcü, Bahtiyar revealed that he was instructed by the girl’s uncle, Salim Güran, to dispose of the body.
Narin Güran went missing on August 21 in Tavşantepe Diyarbakır village. Her lifeless body was discovered on September 8 in a stream near her village.
Bahtiyar initially admitted to placing the body in a stream inside a sack, following Salim Güran’s instructions, in exchange for 200,000 liras. He claimed to have received the body from the girl’s uncle.
Feeling remorseful, Bahtiyar asked the court to “tell everything he knows.” His testimony has sent shockwaves through the community.
The Events Leading Up to the Murder
Bahtiyar recounted the events of August 21, the day Narin Güran went missing. He stated that Salim Güran invited him to the girl’s house, where he found Narin lying motionless on the floor.
“The doors to the rooms were all closed except for one. I saw no one inside the house except Yüksel’s mother and (brothers) Enes, Eren, and Muhammed Güran. Salim took me to one of the rooms, I saw Narin lying motionless on the floor. As far as I remember, Narin had foamy liquid in her mouth,” he said.
Salim Güran allegedly told Bahtiyar that he killed Narin because she had witnessed him and the girl’s mother, Yüksel Güran, together. Bahtiyar claimed that Salim threatened to harm his son if he didn’t dispose of the body.
The Aftermath
Bahtiyar explained how he placed the body in a sack and threw it into the Eğertutmaz stream. He also mentioned that Yüksel Güran was crying while he was disposing of the body.
Twelve people have been arrested in connection with the murder, including Salim Güran, Yüksel Güran’s mother, Enes Güran’s brother, Hediye Güran’s aunt, and Nevzat Bahtiyar.
