Tragedy Strikes: 5 Dead, 8 Injured in Bus Accident Carrying Children’s Football Team
A devastating bus accident occurred on Tuesday, claiming the lives of five people and injuring eight others. The bus was carrying children from the Real Barcelona de Anzoátegui children’s football team, who were returning from the Jardín de Oriente children’s tournament in Monagas.
The incident happened on the La Campana curve in Caripe, Monagas, as reported by local journalists and the media outlet La Prensa de Monagas. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals, including the San Antonio de Capayacuar Hospital in the municipality of Acosta and the Dr. Manuel Núñez Tovar de Maturín University Hospital in Monaguense.
According to unofficial reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to fall into a ravine. Security agencies are currently investigating the cause of the incident.
The Anzoátegui Football Association has confirmed the accident on its Instagram account, expressing solidarity with the families of the victims. While the football organization has released the names of the victims, official confirmation is still pending to determine whether all the deceased are children.
