A tragic traffic accident occurred on Kong Shan Road, Lantau Island, resulting in the loss of life of a 31-year-old mainland woman, Pan Haili, also known as “Hayley” on social media.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened at approximately 3 pm when Hayley lost her balance while riding a bicycle on Qiangshan Road and fell to the ground. She was subsequently hit by an oncoming tour bus and succumbed to her injuries on the spot.

The police are currently investigating the cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest that Hayley was riding a bicycle with a group of over a dozen people on Lantau Island when she lost control and fell. The 59-year-old driver of the tour bus, surnamed Zhong, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The video was labeled “Hong Kong Cycling Tour.”

The Transport Department announced that the entire route of Keung Shan Road near Shing Fai Orchard was closed in both directions due to the accident. New Lantau Bus Route 21 was affected, and its service was suspended. Routes 1 and 11 were shortened to Shek Pik, causing traffic congestion in the area. However, a single-lane, two-way traffic arrangement was implemented later, and the affected bus services gradually returned to normal.
