Young Doctor’s Passenger Dies in Scooter Accident, Driver Arrested
Ajmal, a resident of Karunagappally, has been apprehended by the Shastamkota police in connection with the scooter passenger death case at Anurkav, Mynagappally, Kollam. The young lady doctor who was in the car with him was already in custody.
Kunjumol, a native of Mainagapally, lost her life after being hit by a car driven by Ajmal. The car was carrying the bodies of the scooter riders, which fell on the road. When the passenger of the scooter fell, the driver of the car failed to assist her and instead pushed the car forward, impaling the woman’s body.
Locals, who witnessed the accident, rushed to the scene and attempted to stop the car. However, the driver ignored their warnings and continued driving. The car was eventually stopped due to the collective efforts of the locals.
Ajmal managed to escape by deceiving the locals, while the doctor was taken into police custody. The vehicle was driven by a friend of the doctor, who was also taken into custody.
Locals rushed the injured woman to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Fauzia, the relative who was driving the scooter Kunjumol was riding, is also being treated for injuries. Police are investigating whether the car’s occupants were under the influence of alcohol.

Preservation of Semen in Road Accident Case
Officials at a private hospital in Ernakulam have informed the High Court that the semen of a young man who was seriously injured in a road accident has been collected and preserved. The Supreme Court order came on the plea of his wife.
The young man, who is in critical condition, is still on a ventilator. He was seriously injured when he was hit by an oncoming car while riding a bike on the night of August 4. His 34-year-old wife had requested that his sperm be collected, as doctors confirmed that the chances of overcoming the danger are slim.
The High Court was approached due to a legal obstacle in this regard. The couple got married last year.
