Bob Bryar, Former Drummer of My Chemical Romance, Passes Away
Bob Bryar, the drummer for My Chemical Romance from 2004 to 2014, has died at the age of 44. He was found dead in his home in Tennessee on Tuesday, with his last known sighting on November 4.
Authorities do not suspect foul play. Bryar’s weapons and music equipment were left untouched at the scene. His body was discovered in a state of advanced decomposition. Animal Control collected two dogs from his home after the discovery. The medical examiner is currently investigating the cause of death.
Bryar joined My Chemical Romance while they were on tour with The Used in 2004, replacing Mat Pelissier shortly after. He played drums on the band’s acclaimed 2006 album “The Black Parade” and contributed to the 2010 album “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.” However, he left the band before the release of “Danger Days” and pursued various projects, including a transition to real estate.
In recent years, Bryar spoke openly about his struggles with mental health, admitting he experienced suicidal thoughts after leaving the band. However, he continued to be a recognized figure in the music community.
Bob Bryar is remembered as the longest-tenured drummer in My Chemical Romance history. He leaves behind a legacy of music that touched many fans.
