Indonesia Prioritizes Nutrition and Health for Golden 2045 Vision
Jakarta,Indonesia – Indonesia is placing a strong emphasis on nutritional and health development as key pillars in it’s ambitious Golden Indonesia 2045 vision. This vision aims to propel the nation to developed country status by 2045, with a target per capita income of US$30,300.amich Alhumami, Deputy for Human, Community, and Cultural Development at the Ministry of National development Planning, highlighted the importance of this focus at the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Annual Meeting 2024.
“We place health development and nutritional development as very central parts in the big framework of human development,” Alhumami stated.
This commitment is reflected in the inclusion of nutritional and health development change within both the 2025–2045 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) and the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).
The government recognizes the crucial role of early childhood development, particularly the first 1,000 days of a child’s life, in shaping a healthy and productive future generation.
“The first 1,000 days of life is a main focus that we continue to pay attention to. Stunting reduction must be a priority agenda that involves all parties,” Alhumami emphasized.
Meaningful progress has already been made in reducing anemia among pregnant women, dropping from 48.9 percent in 2018 to 27.7 percent in 2023. Though, challenges related to stunting and malnutrition persist, requiring continued cross-sector collaboration.
