Scottie Scheffler, the world’s top-ranked golfer, fired an opening-round 62 at the Travelers⁣ Championship, tying him for the lead⁤ with Austin Eckroat. Rory McIlroy is two strokes back after carding a 64.

Scheffler, fresh ‍off a top-10 finish at last week’s U.S. Open,highlighted his round with an eagle ‍on the ‍par-5 13th. he also won the Travelers Championship last year. Eckroat also shot an 8-under-par 62 to grab a⁢ share of the lead. McIlroy, along ‍with Keegan‍ Bradley and‍ Wyndham Clark, are all at 6-under.

McIlroy emphasized focusing on the quality⁣ of his play. “I just want to see some good golf and see some better shots,” McIlroy said. “I think if ⁣you concentrate on⁤ that… the result will take care of itself.”
