Manhunt Continues for Travis Decker in Daughters’ Triple Murder Case
Wenatchee,Wash. — Teh Chelan County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is leading a manhunt for Travis Decker, wanted on three counts of aggravated first-degree murder and kidnapping in connection with the deaths of his three daughters.CCSO leadership is closely involved in coordinating the search and the ongoing criminal investigation.

Court records indicate a recent reduction in Decker’s visitation time with his daughters. Whitney, Decker’s ex-wife, and her lawyer requested the decrease, citing concerns about the children’s safety, Decker’s mental health, and dialog issues.
During a September 2024 family court hearing, a judge granted Whitney near-full custody, alleging neglect and emotional distress. Decker was allowed visitation every other weekend for a limited number of hours. Decker voiced his frustration with the parenting plan, expressing a desire to spend more time with his daughters, given his work-related travel as a member of the U.S. Carpenter’s Union.
“I already only get a day and a half, two days, with my daughters, and it’s two nights…through the new parenting plan, it takes away basically all my opportunities to be around the girls when I’m not at work,” Decker said during the hearing.
An incident where the children were reportedly heard crying during an overnight visit with their father at the Wenatchee armory was among the reasons cited for limiting overnight stays.
Decker defended his interactions with his daughters, stating, ”Every time I’ve had the girls, we have been in campsites, in national forests and paid campsites that have campers. We’ve never done anything that was unsafe.”

After the judge finalized the reduced visitation plan, Decker questioned the possibility of altering the outcome.”And then nothing can change that? Nothing, my signature doesn’t matter anyway, right? So if I don’t sign it, then…” he said.
Whitney contacted authorities when Decker failed to return the girls by the 8 p.m. curfew on May 30, a first for him, according to an affidavit. Court documents also revealed that Decker has mental health issues and borderline personality disorder, and that he is homeless, living in campgrounds and motels. The search for Travis Decker, the alleged killer dad, continues.
