Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has purchased a historic, 21,140-square-foot lakefront mansion in Bratenahl, Ohio, for $5.35 million in March. Real estate records and reporting by The Wall Street Journal confirmed the transaction with News 5 Cleveland.

A $5.35 Million Homecoming on Lake Erie

Known as Moyenage, the gilded-age estate sits on 3.5 acres along the Lake Erie shoreline. It rests just a few miles from Cleveland Heights, where Kelce and his brother Jason grew up. The acquisition expands a real estate portfolio that already includes a $6 million home in Leawood, Kansas, alongside properties in Beverly Hills and Rhode Island.

From 1895 Gilded-Age Roots to Modern Luxury

Figurati Construction Group, a Northeast Ohio renovation firm owned by Gary Pellegrino, bought the sprawling property for $1.95 million in 2023. The firm completed an extensive modernization before listing it in mid-2023 for an initial asking price of $6.99 million, according to News 5 Cleveland and Homes of Celebs.

David Ayers and Nick Zawitz of the Agency Cleveland handled both sides of the transaction. Paperwork related to the purchase was signed by Sam Totino, a partner at the Calfee law firm in Cleveland who leads the firm’s sports and entertainment practice group and represents clients including 3 Arts Sports, Kelce’s talent management agency.

Walnut Woodwork and Leaded-Glass Skylights

Built originally in 1895, the restored estate retains historical architectural details alongside modern upgrades. It features eight bedrooms and eleven bathrooms, according to local historical records and property listings.

Entering the main house reveals a grand entrance hall with carved walnut and oak details that lead into living spaces lined with leaded-glass windows. The interior also boasts a formal dining room with a fireplace and an accordion-door sunroom finished with polished marble floors and an amber-toned leaded-glass skylight. The grounds feature an original gatehouse transformed into a two-bedroom guest cottage, a heated swimming pool, a newly built bluestone patio, and stone terraces overlooking the lake.

Inside the Reimagined Ballrooms and Wine Cellars

Upper and lower levels of the mansion underwent major redesigns to support entertaining and recreation. The third-floor former ballroom was converted into a game room and home theater, according to Homes of Celebs.

Meanwhile, the lower level includes a billiards room, a poker area, a bar, a temperature-controlled wine cellar and tasting room, a fitness center, and a sauna. A Control4 smart-home system manages the entire estate.

The purchase comes roughly four months before Kelce’s marriage to pop star Taylor Swift, according to News 5 Cleveland. The move drew intense local attention as rumors regarding the couple establishing a Northeast Ohio residence finally materialized.

A Warm Welcome in a Village of 1,400

Local officials welcomed the acquisition to the small lakeside village, which maintains a population of approximately 1,400 residents.

Bratenahl Mayor Keith Benjamin told News 5 Cleveland that the community prides itself on offering a welcoming environment where residents can maintain their private lives.

You know, part of being a good neighbor is offering a warm welcome and also giving people the privacy and the space to simply be at home — no matter who lives next door, Benjamin said in an interview with the station.
