NARANJITO, Puerto Rico (AP) — The town of Naranjito is set to celebrate its annual Fricasé Festival this Sunday, May 4, 2025, promising a rich display of gastronomy, music, and culture. The festivities will kick off at noon in the town’s central square.
A Taste of Tradition: The Largest Chicken Fricasé
A highlight of the festival will be the planning of what organizers claim is Puerto Rico’s largest chicken fricasé. Municipal employees from the Cadal Program will prepare the dish, offering it free to all attendees.
“Fricasé is a dish that unites generations,” saeid Orlando Ortiz Chevres, mayor of Naranjito. “With this festival,we want to celebrate our culinary traditions and provide families with a unique experience in the heart of our people.” He extended an invitation to residents from across the island.
