Jacksonville, FL – Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s tumultuous season has come to a definitive end. Already sidelined with a concussion sustained against the Texans, Lawrence will undergo surgery to repair a significant AC joint injury in his left shoulder, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.

Lawrence initially injured his non-throwing shoulder in Week 9 against the philadelphia Eagles, forcing him to miss two games. He returned to face the Texans on Sunday but was knocked out of the game after just 19 plays due to an illegal hit by linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair.
Al-shaair, who was ejected for the hit, lost his appeal of a three-game suspension on Wednesday.
This season has been the most challenging of Lawrence’s young career. He completed 60.6% of his passes for 2,045 yards, 11 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
