Tri-State Comic Stores Join Local Event

Comic book retailers across the Tri-State area are preparing for Free Comic Book Day on May 2, 2026. The annual event serves as a promotional initiative by the comic book industry to attract new readers to independent comic book stores.

In Owensboro, Big Bang Toys, Comics & Games will host its Free Comic Book Day and Comics Giveaway Day. The event is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. To 6 p.m. At the store’s location at 4786 Frederica Street.

According to reporting from The Owensboro Times, the event will offer a full day of activities for all ages. In addition to the distribution of free comics, the store will host coloring contests, costume contests, game demonstrations, and prize giveaways.

The giveaway includes a variety of titles, with promotional materials indicating available comics from series such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Spider-Man.
