Kenny was renowned as one half of the comedy duo D’Unbelievables. This act, along with his collaborations with Pat Shortt, made him a staple of Irish comedy in the 1990s. Their performances resonated deeply with audiences, leading to successful live shows and popular videos.

His career spanned both stage and screen, appearing in productions such as Father Ted, Angela’s Ashes, and The Banshees of Inisherin. He also lent his voice to animated films like Wolfwalkers and Song of the Sea.

In recent years, Kenny battled lung cancer, and he had previously defeated non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Shortt expressed his devastation over the loss and shared fond memories of their time touring together.

Kenny’s legacy extends to his ability to connect with audiences. Taoiseach Simon Harris and Tánaiste Micheál Martin acknowledged his deep impact on Irish culture, while Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald celebrated his comedic genius.

Kenny’s funeral Mass will take place at St. Patrick’s Church in Lough Gur. His family shared a heartfelt notice, mentioning his loving wife, Margie, and his children, Aran and Leah.

Kenny is remembered not only for his talent but for his warmth and kindness. His unique humor and engaging performances have left an indelible mark on the Irish entertainment landscape.
