Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has levied sanctions against four individuals for manipulating the share price of Triton Holding Public Company Limited (TRITN). The penalties include fines totaling 34.4 million baht and restrictions on trading and executive roles.
The individuals facing sanctions are Pasu Wachirapong, Vichan Wachirapong, Akarat Vanarat, and Natthawat Piboonthanaamorn. The SEC investigation, triggered by a 2023 referral from the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), revealed coordinated efforts to distort TRITN’s market activity between Sept. 2-9, 2022.
Pasu, vichan, and Akarat allegedly colluded to manipulate TRITN’s price and trading volume through coordinated buy and sell orders. Natthawat is accused of assisting Pasu in these activities. The SEC’s Civil Sanction Committee (CSC) determined these actions violated securities laws.
Pasu faces the most severe penalties, including a 32.8 million baht fine, a 14-month ban on securities and derivatives trading, and a 28-month prohibition from serving as a director or executive. Vichan must pay 539,304 baht and faces an 11-month trading ban and a 22-month executive role restriction.
