Tropical Depression Brings Heavy Downpour: Southern Coast to Receive 120mm of Rain and Counting

Heavy Rainfall Hits South Korea:‍ Regions Affected and Precautions to Take

South Korea is​ currently experiencing heavy rainfall,‍ with some areas receiving ‌over 40mm of rain per hour. The‌ city of Changwon in Gyeongnam has recorded extreme rainfall of over 100mm per hour overnight.

The ⁢provinces of South Chungcheong, South Gyeongsang, and Jeju Island have been severely affected by the ⁢heavy rain, with some areas receiving over 200mm of rain. A water bomb of over 453.5 millimeters fell ​on Samgakbong, a mountainous area in Jeju.

According​ to weather forecasts, heavy rain of more than 180 millimeters is expected to fall on the Gyeongnam coast, while over 120 millimeters is expected to fall on the Jeju mountainous areas, Chungcheong, and Jeollabuk-do.

Heavy rain clouds are currently lingering in Chungcheong and Gyeongbuk, with a heavy rain warning in effect for most of Chungcheong. Rain clouds left ⁢behind by the typhoon will pass along the southern coast today.

Residents in Gangwon and Chungcheong can expect heavy rain⁤ of 30 to 60 mm per hour until the afternoon, while the⁤ southern region will experience heavy ‍rain until the evening.

A landslide warning has been issued for various‌ areas in Chungcheong ⁣and the southern part of the country. Residents are advised to refrain from approaching risk areas and take necessary ‌precautions to avoid flooding during high tide.

The southern coast and Jeju Island will​ experience strong winds of 20 to 25 meters per second, with high waves expected along the coast. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
