Updated june 11, 2025
The TRP Vistar groupset, the first to fully integrate a Classified rear hub, has officially launched after a year of anticipation. Extensive testing has revealed key details about this innovative system, which blends TRP, Classified, and KMC components to offer a unique riding experience.
The TRP Vistar groupset aims to compete with Shimano Ultegra and SRAM Force AXS in both price and performance. Though, it distinguishes itself through its integration with the Classified Powershift hub, offering riders instantaneous shifting and a wide gear range. The system essentially functions as a 2x setup, providing 16 unique gear ratios with a 34t derailleur capacity. A gravel-specific version is also available, accommodating up to a 40-tooth cassette and delivering 15 unique gear ratios.

The TRP vistar groupset uses a two-button system on each lever. The right lever controls cassette shifts, while the left manages the Classified Powershift rear hub. This hub offers a 30% gear reduction, effectively mimicking a 2x system. The system connects to a TRP app for firmware updates and shift customization.
While offering innovative features, the TRP Vistar groupset carries a weight penalty. At 3,145 grams, it’s 200 grams heavier than the SRAM Force AXS 2x groupset. This difference stems from the Classified hub, which replaces the traditional rear hub.The system requires Classified-compatible wheelsets.
