A police pursuit in North Little Rock ended on May 11, 2026, when a fleeing driver struck another vehicle, causing a truck to crash through the side of a neighborhood mini mart.
The crash occurred at the D &. J Mini Mart on Main Street. According to the North Little Rock Police Department, the incident began as a high-speed chase involving a driver attempting to evade officers.
During the pursuit, the suspect’s vehicle collided with a truck. The force of the collision sent the truck into the side of the business. Surveillance video captured the moment of impact, showing a customer standing at the counter seconds before the truck crashed through the wall.
Store manager Ajit Dobani was positioned behind the counter at the time of the impact. Dobani stated that the experience felt unreal and left him emotionally overwhelmed.
“I think I am in a dream,” Dobani said.
Dobani reported that the trauma of the event led him to call 911 afterward because he did not feel well. He expressed ongoing anxiety about returning to the site, stating that he worries the ceiling might fall on his head.
Another employee, Tina, first learned of the crash through social media after completing her shift. Upon returning to the store to check on Dobani, she described being stunned by the sight of the vehicle inside the building.
“I couldn’t believe that that truck was on the inside of the store,” Tina said. “I could not believe it.”
Police confirmed that the drivers of both the fleeing vehicle and the truck were transported to a hospital. Their current medical conditions have not been disclosed.
The D & J Mini Mart remains closed while repairs are made to the structure and employees recover from the emotional impact of the crash. The North Little Rock Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident.
