Trump on Potential Clemency for Ghislaine Maxwell: “Something I Haven’t Thought About”
President Donald Trump, speaking to reporters on the South Lawn of the White House before departing for Scotland, addressed questions regarding potential clemency for Ghislaine Maxwell. When pressed on the matter, Trump stated that it was “something that I haven’t thought about.”
The President acknowledged his authority to grant clemency, adding, ”I am allowed to do it, but it is something that I haven’t thought about.”
Maxwell, a British socialite, was convicted in 2021 of conspiring to transport a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity and of conspiring to commit sex trafficking. She was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
