Trump Announces Seven New Peace Envoy Council Members: Blair, Rubio, Kushner, Witkoff

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, ‌U.S. ⁢Special ‍Envoy steve⁣ Witkoff, ​President ⁤Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner… Donald Trump revealed the‍ names of the members‌ of the peace council ⁢for gaza⁢ in a statement on Friday, January ⁢16.

The‌ U.S. President‍ will chair⁢ this council, which⁣ will also include the President of the World Bank, Ajay⁣ Banga, ⁤Marc Rowan, a billionaire head⁣ of the ‌investment ​fund Apollo Global​ Management, and Robert Gabriel, an ‍advisor to ⁤Donald ‍Trump. Of the seven ⁤members of⁤ the council, with the‍ exception of tony ⁢Blair, all are American and most are close to the occupant‌ of ⁣the White House. Of Indian ​origin, Ajay Banga‌ became a U.S. citizen in 2007.

The peace council is suppose to oversee the work of ⁣the Palestinian committee responsible for administering the Gaza Strip,as part of the second phase⁤ of the Trump plan.​ Each of ⁤the ⁢members will “oversee a ⁤defined sector, necessary for the ⁢stabilization and long-term‌ success of​ Gaza, including the establishment of government structures, regional⁤ relations,‌ reconstruction, attractiveness for investment, large-scale financing and capital mobilization”,‍ the ⁢statement details.

Donald Trump has reportedly discussed a ​plan for the United States⁢ to take control of‌ Palestinian territory ⁣and transform it ‍into a “Riviera of the Middle‍ East,” after expelling ‌its‍ current inhabitants.⁣
