Former President Donald Trump announced Saturday that Richard Grenell will serve as his envoy for special missions, a role that will see him tackling some of the worldS most complex diplomatic challenges.
“I am pleased to announce Richard Allen Grenell as our envoy for Special Missions,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.”Ric will be working in some of the most troubled places in the world, including Venezuela adn North Korea.”
Grenell, a seasoned diplomat, previously served as the U.S. Ambassador to Germany during Trump’s first term. He also held the position of Acting Director of National Intelligence and served as a presidential envoy for negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia.”In my first term, Ric was the U.S. Ambassador to Germany, Acting Director of National Intelligence, and presidential envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia negotiations,” Trump continued.”Previously, he spent eight years within the United Nations Security Council, working with North Korea and developments in numerous other countries.”
Trump highlighted Grenell’s academic credentials,noting his bachelor’s degree from Evangel College and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University.
