Trump Assassination Probe Sparks Bipartisan Fury: FBI’s Secret Operation Under Fire
Trump Assassination Attempts: Bipartisan Investigation Team Criticizes FBI’s Obstruction

Two recent assassination attempts against former President Trump have raised concerns about the United States’ political security. The bipartisan special investigation team of the House of Representatives is now facing a significant obstacle: the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is accused of “obstructing” the investigation and refusing to provide relevant information.
Republican Florida Representative Mike Waltz, a member of the investigative team, expressed his dissatisfaction with the FBI’s attitude on the “Fox News Sunday” program. He stated that the FBI’s behavior was in sharp contrast to the frank and cooperative attitude of the United States Secret Service (USSS).
Waltz praised the Secret Service for acknowledging its mistakes in communication and guidance with local police and setting up an appropriate command post. However, the FBI was reluctant to provide relevant information and even “blacked out” a significant number of documents, leading to speculation about whether the FBI deliberately concealed information.
Republican Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin also pointed out that the few documents the FBI provided to lawmakers were “heavily redacted,” an unprecedented practice.
The FBI’s inconsistent statements have raised doubts about its attitude towards handling the case. Initially, FBI Director Christopher Wray told members of the House of Representatives that there were doubts about whether Trump’s ear injury was caused by a bullet or shrapnel. However, two days later, the FBI changed its statement and confirmed that it was caused by the rifle bullet used by the gunman.
Waltz called on FBI Director Christopher Wray and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to hold a public press conference to explain the progress of the investigation. He emphasized that the investigation team currently knows almost nothing about the background, encrypted accounts, and bomb-making methods of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the suspect in the July assassination attempt on Trump.
Waltz also expressed disappointment with the FBI’s handling of Iran-related incidents. He pointed out that the Iranian regime has been planning to assassinate Trump, hacked into the Trump campaign team’s information system, and shared this information with Vice President Harris’ campaign team. However, the FBI refused to provide relevant information to the Intelligence Committee.
Democratic Congresswoman Madeleine Dean of Pennsylvania, another member of the investigation team, announced that the team will expand the scope of the investigation to include the second assassination attempt at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida on September 16. She also condemned all forms of political violence.
