Calgary,‍ Canada — ⁢president Trump arrived in Canada on Monday for the Group ⁣of Seven economic summit, facing immediate pressure over tariffs and global tensions. discussions are expected to‌ be heated‍ as the‍ U.S.⁤ president confronts allied nations regarding ‌recently imposed tariffs.

The summit occurs against a backdrop of escalating⁤ conflict between ‍Israel and ‍iran, now in its fourth day. While a draft‌ G7 statement‍ addressing ‌the situation in Iran has been proposed, U.S. officials indicate ⁢that Trump does not intend to endorse it. The U.S. remains committed to ‌preventing Iran ⁤from‌ acquiring nuclear weapons, officials⁢ said. The⁣ draft statement reportedly emphasizes monitoring Iran, protecting civilians, and reaffirming commitments⁢ to peace.

Trump’s schedule began with a bilateral meeting with ⁤Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, a follow-up to their⁤ meeting last month ⁢at the White House.
