President Donald Trump has released graphic surveillance footage of a fatal hammer attack in Florida, using the incident to launch a blistering critique of former President Joe Biden and the immigration policies of the previous administration.

On Thursday, April 9, 2026, Trump shared a 20-second uncensored clip on Truth Social showing a man bludgeoning a woman to death. The president stated he felt obligated to publish the footage, which had previously been shown in court, so that Americans could see what Democrats are protecting.

The video, which Trump warned was not for children and described as one of the most vicious things you will ever see, captures the moments leading up to the killing. The footage shows the suspect pounding on the windshield of a black SUV in a parking lot before the victim, a gas station employee, exited a nearby storefront. The suspect then repeatedly struck the woman in the head with a hammer.

Details of the Fort Myers Attack

The attack occurred on the morning of Friday, April 3, 2026, outside a Chevron gas station in Fort Myers, Florida. The victim, a 51-year-old mother of two, was found by first responders lying in a pool of blood near the convenience store and was not breathing.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) identified the suspect as Rolbert Joachin, a 40-year-old Haitian national. Joachin has been charged with second-degree murder and criminal damage to property.

During a court appearance on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, Joachin allegedly revealed that he had gone to the gas station specifically with the intent to kill the victim.

Immigration Status and Policy Disputes

According to the DHS, Joachin first entered the United States illegally in August 2022. He was released into the country under the administration of Joe Biden after being granted Temporary Protected Status (TPS).

While a federal judge had previously issued a final order for Joachin’s removal from the country, his TPS status allowed him to remain in the U.S. President Trump has described the TPS program as a massively abused and fraudulent program and accused Radical Judges of impeding his administration’s immigration policies.

In his Truth Social post, Trump branded Joachin an animal and blamed the former president and congressional Democrats for the suspect’s presence in the country.

An Illegal Alien Criminal from Haiti, who was released into our Country by the WORST President in History, Crooked Joe Biden, and the Radical Democrats in Congress, just beat an innocent woman to death with a hammer at a gas station in Florida

President Donald Trump

Trump urged Republicans and common sense Americans to remember the event as an example of the consequences of lax immigration enforcement, claiming that the United States had been turned into a dumping ground by the Democratic Party.

Legal and Deportation Status

The president vowed that quick and severe JUSTICE would be served in the case and offered prayers for the victim’s family.

The DHS confirmed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lodged a detainer against Joachin. Officials stated that the suspect will face deportation regardless of the outcome of the criminal proceedings.
