He emphasized the need for Netanyahu to choose between aligning with Donald Trump or appeasing his far-right ministers, Itamar Ben-Gvir and bezalel Smotrich.
In a recent security meeting, prime Minister Netanyahu indicated a potential shift in priorities. Following what he termed Israel’s “victory” in Iran, he stated that “many opportunities have opened up.” For the first time, he appeared to place greater emphasis on hostage exchange over the complete defeat of Hamas, suggesting a possible openness to a ceasefire deal. “Firstly, to rescue the hostages,” Netanyahu remarked. “Of course, we will also need to solve the Gaza issue, defeat Hamas, but I believe we will achieve both tasks.” This statement could signal a willingness to negotiate, balancing the immediate need to bring hostages home with the broader strategic objectives in Gaza.
