Trump Celebrates $464 Million Fine Cancellation
A New York State Court of Appeal canceled a civil fine of $ 464 million in February 2024 on Donald Trump for financial fraud on Thursday.
In its decision, the Court invokes “an excessive fine which violates the eighth amendment of the Constitution of the United States”, which prohibits disproportionate condemnations.
With this verdict, Donald Trump praised a “total victory” on Thursday after a New York State Court of Appeal canceled a civil fine of $ 464 million which was imposed to him in February 2024 for financial fraud.
“It was a political witch hunt,” the American president reacted in a long message to the avenging tone on his Truth Social network, in which he assures: “Everything I did was absolutely correct, and even, perfect”.
