mar-a-Lago, Florida – Former President⁢ Donald Trump blasted the⁤ Biden administration for continuing ‌too ‌purchase oil from Venezuela, a country wiht which the U.S. has strained‍ relations.

Speaking⁤ at a press ‍conference from his Florida residence, Trump emphasized that the U.S. possesses “50 times more” oil than Venezuela, calling the continued purchases “crazy.”

“We don’t have to buy energy from Venezuela when we have 50 times more than they do. It’s crazy what ⁣we’re doing,” ‌Trump stated. “We will not rest until America is richer, safer, and stronger⁤ than it has ever been.”

This marks a departure from Trump’s previous focus on Venezuela, which primarily centered on crime, specifically citing the ‌”Tren de Aragua” gang for committing offenses in the U.S.

Deportation Deal or Economic Pressure?

Trump also addressed the issue of Venezuelan migrants, asserting ⁢that Venezuela will be obligated⁢ to accept deportees, despite the lack of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

While repatriation flights occurred in October 2022 with Mexico acting as an intermediary, venezuela suspended the reception of its citizens after a petroleum license was revoked,‌ effectively using the situation as leverage against the U.S.

Reports⁣ indicate that Venezuelan President nicolás Maduro recently sent emissaries to Trump’s team, ‌proposing the lifting of sanctions in exchange for accepting deported Venezuelans. However, the response was reportedly negative.

“They’re going ‍to receive them (…) And if they don’t, they will be dealt with very harshly economically (…) In 24 hours, they’ll ‍behave,”‍ Trump declared.

A Hard Line on Venezuela

Trump’s stance on Venezuela remains unclear, but the ‌appointment of ⁣Marco rubio as Secretary of State suggests a potential hardening of U.S.policy.

rubio, a vocal critic⁤ of Maduro and staunch supporter‍ of the Venezuelan opposition,⁢ is expected to take a tough approach.

Moreover, Trump recently appointed Richard Allen Grenell, former U.S. ambassador to Germany,as Special Presidential Envoy for Missions.

“I am pleased to announce that Richard Allen Grenell will be our Special Presidential envoy for Missions. ric will ⁣work in some of the world’s most challenging places, ⁢including Venezuela and⁤ North Korea,” Trump wrote on ⁢his social media platform, Truth Social.Maduro is scheduled to be sworn in as Venezuelan president on January 10th, despite not having demonstrably won against opposition candidate edmundo González.

The White House ⁢has already announced its recognition of‌ González, and last‌ month imposed sanctions on 21 Venezuelan⁢ officials, including Daniella Cabello, daughter of Diosdado cabello.

Trump⁤ Unveils Hard Line on Venezuela, Promises⁢ Tougher Stance ⁣on ⁤Oil Purchases and Migration

Mar-a-Lago,⁣ Florida ‍ – Former President donald‌ Trump took aim at the Biden management’s Venezuelan ‌oil purchases,‌ vowing a more assertive approach if he returns to the White House. ‌Speaking at a press conference from his Florida ‍residence, Trump denounced‍ the continued importation of Venezuelan oil, arguing⁤ that the U.S. possesses significantly⁢ greater reserves.

“We don’t have to buy ⁢energy from Venezuela when⁢ we have⁣ 50 times more than they do. It’s crazy what we’re doing,” Trump stated. “We will not rest until America is richer, safer, and stronger than it has ever been.”

Trump’s⁤ remarks mark a departure from his previous focus on Venezuela, which primarily centered on transnational crime, particularly the “Tren de Aragua” gang.

The former President also addressed the issue of Venezuelan migration, asserting that Venezuela will be ‍obligated to accept deportees irrespective of the ‌current ⁤lack of diplomatic relations.

Trump claimed that while repatriation flights occurred in October 2022 with Mexico ‌facilitating the process, ‌Venezuela subsequently suspended the reception of its citizens following the revocation of ⁢a petroleum license. ⁣He ‍described this as leverage wielded by Venezuela against the United states.

reports suggest that ⁤Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro recently dispatched emissaries to Trump’s‍ team, proposing ‌the lifting of sanctions in ‍exchange for accepting deported venezuelans. Though, ⁤Trump allegedly rebuffed the proposal.

“They’re going ⁢to receive them ⁤(…) and ⁤if they don’t, they will be ⁢dealt with very harshly economically (…) In 24 hours, they’ll ⁤behave,” Trump declared.

while⁢ Trump’s concrete plans remain unclear, ⁤his appointment⁤ of Marco Rubio as Secretary of State signals ‌a possible toughening of U.S. policy towards Venezuela. Rubio, a staunch critic of Maduro and advocate for the Venezuelan opposition, is expected to⁢ adopt ⁢a hardline approach.

Furthermore, Trump recently named⁣ Richard Allen Grenell, former ⁣U.S.⁤ ambassador to⁤ Germany, as Special⁢ presidential envoy for ⁤Missions, indicating‌ his ‍intention to focus ⁤on ‍challenging hotspots, including ⁤venezuela and North Korea.

Maduro is scheduled to be sworn in as Venezuelan ⁤president on January 10th, despite facing accusations of electoral irregularities and lack of a demonstrably fair victory against opposition candidate Edgardo González.

The ⁢White House has already declared its ⁤recognition of González and imposed sanctions on 21 Venezuelan officials last month, including daniella Cabello, daughter of Diosdado Cabello.
