Donald Trump as president-elect spoke to supporters in Florida and said his new administration will be “America’s golden age.” Trump took the stage in a luxury resort in Palm Beach in the early hours of Wednesday (6) alongside his family and Senator JD Vance, a candidate for vice president.
Counting of votes was still going on when he spoke. Trump had 267 of the 270 representatives in the Electoral College, according to the projections of the AP agency, and also surpassed the Democrat Kamala Harris in the popular vote. Furthermore, “The New York Times” estimated his chances of winning at over 95%.
The Republican said Americans had given him a “powerful and unprecedented mandate” and called the victory “the greatest political movement ever.”
Trump especially thanked two people who were essential in the Republican campaign: his running mate, JD Vance, and billionaire Elon Musk.
As for JD Vance, Trump said he faced some opposition within the party when inviting him to be vice president on the Republican ticket. “I knew it was very good, and together we are going to transform this country,” he said.
Trump then dedicated a good part of his speech to thanking Elon Musk. The billionaire was one of the biggest supporters of the Republican candidate and even raffled off money to encourage voters.
Trump called Musk a “supergenius” who needs to be appreciated. He referred to the achievements of Musk’s companies in the fields of space research and technology and said he loved the billionaire.
Eduardo Bolsonaro
Federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) posted on social media that he was following the investigation into Donald Trump’s mansion in Florida. “It is an honor to be here to follow the counting of the most important elections in the free world. From the USA, with our hearts in Brazil which is suffering under the power of the left”, wrote Eduardo.
