Trump Issues Iran Ultimatum: Strike Deadline & Nuclear Deal Talks

Trump Issues Ultimatum to Iran, Sets 10-Day Deadline for Nuclear Deal

US President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran, demanding a “meaningful deal” regarding its nuclear program within the next 10 days, or face unspecified consequences. The ultimatum comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East and a visible build-up of US military assets in the region.

“It’s proven over the years not easy to make a meaningful deal with Iran,” Trump said Thursday, adding, “We have to make a meaningful deal otherwise bad things happen.” He further suggested that Washington may be compelled to “take it a step further” if an agreement isn’t reached, stating, “You’re going to be finding out over the next probably 10 days.”

The President’s comments were delivered during the inaugural meeting of the “Board of Peace” at the US Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C. .

Reports indicate the US military is prepared for potential action. The New York Times reported that the build-up of US forces has reached a point where President Trump now has the option of launching military action against Iran as soon as this weekend. Preparations to strike Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, ballistic missile systems, and launch facilities have intensified despite ongoing diplomatic efforts.

While Trump has not publicly announced a final decision regarding military action, preparations are continuing at a rapid pace, according to administration and Pentagon officials. The Wall Street Journal reported that the administration is weighing an initial limited strike to compel Iran back to the negotiating table.

Washington reportedly wants Iran to entirely halt uranium enrichment, a process used for atomic power generation but also capable of producing material for nuclear weapons.

The situation is being closely monitored internationally. According to a post on Facebook from Reuters, Trump warned Iran that it must reach a deal over its nuclear program or “bad things” will happen. Al Jazeera also reported on the 10-day deadline, noting that Trump suggested this timeframe for reaching an agreement with the US.

The urgency of the situation was underscored by reports suggesting that, as of earlier today, Trump had considered a timeframe of up to two weeks for Iran to respond, but has now narrowed that window to 10 days.

The developments follow a period of heightened tensions between the US and Iran, fueled by concerns over Iran’s nuclear ambitions and its regional activities. The potential for military conflict has raised alarm among international observers, who are urging both sides to pursue a diplomatic resolution.
