Trump, posting on Truth Social, questioned continued rocket launches, satellite projects, and electric car production involving Musk’s firms. He claimed ending these contracts would save the country a “fortune.” Trump also speculated Musk might have to return to South Africa, despite musk becoming a U.S. citizen in 2002.
The renewed tension follows Musk’s criticism of Trump’s “Big, Gorgeous Bill,” which proposes Medicaid cuts and eliminates taxes on tips and overtime, while also ending tax credits for electric vehicles. Musk has vocally opposed the bill’s spending priorities.
