Trump Warns Iran Amid Israel Conflict, Predicts Agreement
Updated june 15, 2025
president donald Trump issued a stern warning to Iran on Sunday against any potential retaliation targeting U.S. interests in the Middle East. He also projected that Israel and Iran would ”soon” reach a resolution to their ongoing conflict. This comes as Israel and Iran have exchanged missile attacks for three consecutive days.
Trump stated on social media that the U.S. ”had nothing to do with the attack on Iran.” However, Iran holds the U.S. responsible due to its extensive military support for Israel. Israel targeted Iran’s Ministry of Defense headquarters in Tehran and alleged Iranian nuclear program sites. Iranian missiles, in turn, struck buildings within Israel.
“If we are attacked in any way, form or mode by Iran, all the strength and power of the United States armed forces will fall on you to levels never seen before,” Trump said.
Hours later,Trump again took to social media, predicting,”Iran and Israel should reach an agreement, and will reach an agreement.” He referenced his past efforts in de-escalating conflicts, stating he would get Israel and Iran to cease hostilities “as I managed to get India and Pakistan to do so” after their recent border confrontations.
India had attacked targets within Pakistan following the massacre of 26 tourists in Kashmir. Pakistan denied involvement. The ensuing exchanges included heavy fire, missile strikes, and drone attacks, primarily targeting military facilities and air bases. Trump reiterated his claim, disputed by India, that both nations agreed to a cease-fire after he offered trade assistance.
Trump also highlighted his administration’s previous mediation efforts between Serbia and Kosovo, as well as Egypt and Ethiopia. “In the same way, we will soon have peace between Israel and Iran!” Trump said. “Many calls and meetings are taking place now… Let’s make the Middle East great again!”
During his campaign, Trump promised to quickly end wars, including those in Gaza and Ukraine, and to implement a foreign policy focused on avoiding foreign entanglements. However, resolutions to the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza remain elusive. despite criticizing President Joe Biden for limiting Israel’s ability to strike Iranian nuclear sites, Trump now finds himself advocating for diplomacy.
Trump spoke with Russian President vladimir Putin on Saturday regarding the escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. He is scheduled to travel to Canada for the Group of Seven leaders’ summit, where the Middle East crisis will be a key discussion point with leaders from Great Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the European Union.
Several prominent Trump supporters are urging him to keep the U.S. out of the conflict. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene,R-Ga., Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA, and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson have argued that voters supported Trump because of his promise to avoid foreign wars.
Kirk expressed concern last week that Israel’s attacks on iran could lead to “a great division” and perhaps disrupt Trump’s presidency. Sen. Rand Paul,R-Ky., praised trump for his moderation and expressed hope that the president’s instincts would prevail.
“So I think it will be very challenging to get out of this and have a negotiated agreement,” Paul said on NBC’s “Meet The Press.” “I see more war and more butcher shop. And it is not the work of the United States to get involved in this war.”
What’s next
The international community will be watching closely to see if Trump can leverage his relationships with both Israel and Iran to de-escalate the conflict and bring them to the negotiating table. The G7 summit will provide a crucial platform for discussing potential solutions and coordinating international efforts.
