The footage shows Brigitte Macron seemingly touching her husband’s face in what some interpreted as a slap.
The incident occurred as the Macrons arrived in Vietnam for a week-long tour of Southeast Asia, including stops in Indonesia and Singapore. An aide to the French president dismissed the moment as playful banter before a busy trip, according to BFMTV.
