Former U.S. President Donald Trump is calling for an end to the corruption trial of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.This comes days after Israel and Iran reached a cease-fire agreement.
Trump voiced his support for Netanyahu on his Truth Social platform wednesday, lauding him as a ”WARRIOR” and praising his leadership role during the recent conflict with Iran. He described the allegations against Netanyahu as “politically motivated” and a “WITCH HUNT.”
Netanyahu’s trial began in 2020. He is the first sitting prime minister in Israel to stand trial as a criminal defendant. He faces charges of corruption and influence peddling in three separate cases,all of wich he denies.
Under Israeli law, Netanyahu is not required to resign while facing criminal charges.
