Trump Rants Against CNN, MSNBC During ‘Morning joe’ Live Feed

Updated June 24,⁢ 2025

President Donald‍ Trump used a live television ⁤feed intended to cover his trip to a NATO summit in The Hague to launch a blistering attack on CNN ⁢and MSNBC. The unexpected tirade occurred during MSNBC’s “Morning Joe”⁢ programme ⁤on ‌Tuesday.

Host Joe Scarborough had planned to ⁢air the live footage of Trump leaving the White House en route to Joint Base ⁢Andrews,⁤ hoping‌ to capture the president ⁣answering questions about the Israel‍ and Iran conflict and his efforts to broker a‍ ceasefire.Rather,Trump used the chance to rail‌ against the news networks.

Trump, referring to the networks, said, “I have no‍ choice… I got to watch that garbage. It’s all garbage.‌ It’s all fake⁣ news, but I think CNN is⁤ a gutless group of people. And the people‌ that run it, nobody even knows, it’s been sold so many times. But‍ the people that ‌run it ought to ‌be ashamed.”

He then turned his attention ‌to MSNBC, which he derisively called “MSDNC,” ⁢stating it’s run by “a guy⁣ named Brian ⁢Roberts, he⁣ heads it. He’s a disgrace. He’s a weak, pathetic ⁤disgrace.”

Scarborough reacted wiht surprise, saying,”Guys,we’re…,” before laughing in ‌shock. “The President ⁤was heading to Air Force‌ One; we certainly got his…” he continued, stopping as Trump began addressing questions about U.S.airstrikes on nuclear sites in Iran.

Trump also took issue with CNN’s reporting that it was too early to assess⁤ the ‍full‍ extent ⁤of the damage inflicted on the Iranian nuclear base.

‍ “I think it’s been entirely demolished. I think the reason we’re ⁢here is‌ as those pilots, those B-2⁢ pilots did an incredible job,” Trump ⁢stated.”And, you know, the fake ‍news, ⁤like CNN in particular, they’re trying to say, ‘Well, I agree⁤ that it was destroyed, but maybe not ⁣that destroyed. you know what they’re doing? They’re really hurting ⁤great pilots that put their lives⁤ on the‌ line.”
⁤ ⁢

He continued, “CNN is scum! And so is MSDNC… And frankly, the networks aren’t ⁤much ‍better. ⁤It’s all fake news, but‌ they should not have done that. Those pilots hit ‍their targets. Those targets were obliterated, and the pilots should be given credit. They’re not‌ after the pilots. ⁣They’re after me. They want to ‍try and demean me.”

What’s next

The incident ‌raises questions ⁢about the role of media coverage and the president’s ⁣relationship with news organizations as he ⁢heads into the NATO summit.
