Former President Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social platform Wednesday night that an agreement had been reached between Israel and Hamas, calling it⁤ a “GREAT⁢ Day” for multiple parties including the Arab and Muslim world, Israel, surrounding nations, and the ⁢United States.

CBS News ⁢reported that two regional sources confirmed an agreement in principle regarding a hostage release, though procedural details remained unresolved as of Wednesday. Thes sources indicated that a release could begin within 48 hours of finalizing those details.

Trump’s Predictions and Peace Plan

In a Wednesday‍ night interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Trump predicted that hostages would⁣ “probably” be released on monday, U.S. time, and that the exchange would include the remains of deceased hostages held by hamas.

Trump also suggested that⁤ other elements of his previously outlined 20-point Israel-Hamas peace plan-including a committee to oversee governance in Gaza-could follow, though ⁤he did not provide a specific⁣ timeline. He expressed optimism ⁢about the future, stating, “I think you’re going to see people getting along, and‍ you’ll see Gaza ⁣being rebuilt. People are going to⁤ be taken care of. It’s going to be a ⁣different⁣ world.”

Qatari⁤ Confirmation

Majed al-ansari, an advisor to qatari Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-thani, also confirmed the ‍deal on Wednesday, writing on X that an agreement was reached on “the first phase of the⁤ Gaza ceasefire agreement, which will⁢ lead to ending the war,⁣ the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, and the entry of aid.”
