Just 48 hours after the incident at a golf course in Palm Beach on September 15, Mr. Trump attended an event in Flint, Michigan, where he answered questions from supporters and addressed the attempted assassination.
“Being President is a dangerous profession… it’s a little bit more hazardous than people think. Many consider race car driving or bull riding to be perilous activities, but being President poses unique risks, and we must prioritize our safety,” said the Republican presidential candidate.
Mr. Trump provided details about the incident, including the swift response from the Secret Service. He also acknowledged the role of a woman who witnessed the suspect, 58-year-old Ryan Routh, fleeing the scene and sent a photo of his car to local police, leading to his arrest.
Fortunately, Mr. Trump was not injured in the incident. The FBI confirmed that the suspect, Ryan Routh, 58, did not fire a shot. The investigation is ongoing, with the FBI stating that it is still in its early stages. This latest incident comes just weeks after Mr. Trump was shot at a campaign event in Pennsylvania.
Mr. Trump revealed that both President Joe Biden and his opponent, Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, reached out to inquire about his well-being after the incident.
