: Trump Texts Macron, Rutte: US President Shares Private Messages
Paris – French President Emmanuel Macron privately proposed a G7 dinner in paris to Donald Trump, including Russia, according to text messages revealed Monday.
In a message to the U.S. president, Macron wrote he coudl set up a G7 meeting in Paris following the Davos summit on Thursday. He suggested inviting Ukraine, Denmark, Syria, and Russia on the sidelines, and proposed a dinner before TrumpS departure.
Prior to this, Macron, currently recovering from an eye injury, messaged Trump about their shared understanding and “the great things we can do” regarding Iran. He also questioned,”I don’t understand what you are doing with Greenland.” The Élysée Palace confirmed the authenticity of the messages to the German Press Agency (DPA).
Macron has been sporting a black eye and has been wearing sunglasses as a result.
