Tulisa Contostavlos Reveals She’s Demisexual: Insights from I’m a Celebrity Star

November 19, 2024 Catherine Williams - Chief Editor Entertainment

Tulisa Contostavlos, a contestant on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, shared her thoughts on her sexuality and dating. She describes herself as demisexual, meaning she only feels sexual or romantic attraction after forming a deep emotional connection. Tulisa has been celibate for more than three years.

During the show, she mentioned her dating profile on the app Raya but noted it had not led to any meetings. She said, “I feel like I’m demisexual. I need to have a really close emotional bond with someone.” Tulisa explained that dating makes her feel physically sick and jokingly referred to her body as a temple where no one is allowed in.

Demisexuality is defined as needing an emotional connection before feeling sexual attraction. Tulisa emphasized that for her, connection and emotions are paramount.

In another segment, podcaster GK Barry shared her experience of dating Ipswich Town footballer Ella Rutherford. She described how she first met Ella through a mutual friend but kept the relationship secret from her parents until she officially told them. She said they embraced her girlfriend without hesitation.

The episode also featured Coleen Rooney reminiscing about her teenage romance with Wayne Rooney. She recalled the moment he got her name tattooed on his arm when they were both just 17.

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! continues to air on Virgin Media One and ITV1.
