Turkish Airlines Expands Americas Presence with New Santiago Route

Turkish Airlines (THY) has announced the launch of its 26th destination in the Americas, with flights to Chile’s capital Santiago set to begin on December 18.

The airline will operate four weekly flights from Istanbul to Santiago in both directions, with a stop in Sao Paulo. This new route strengthens Turkish Airlines’ presence in the region, increasing its total number of destinations in the Americas.

According to Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Executive Committee, Ahmet Polat, the airline will continue to connect continents and cultures as the airline that flies to most of the world’s countries.

“By launching our flights to Santiago, our 26th destination in the Americas, we reaffirm our commitment to expanding our global flight network and offering travelers unique connectivity options,” Polat said. “We offer our travelers the opportunity to discover exquisite beauty, with Chile, Türkiye, and many countries around the world hosted by Turkey.”

Nicolas Claude, CEO of Santiago SCL Nuevo Budahuel Airport, expressed his enthusiasm for Turkish Airlines’ new route, stating that the partnership will increase air connectivity for both Chile and Turkey. “This new route between Chile and Turkey will enable Chilean citizens to reach Istanbul and the Far East more easily,” Claude said.

Claude praised Turkish Airlines for its quality and service methods, saying, “This new partnership is with Turkish Airlines, which is a pioneer in its quality and service methods.” He added that the airport will ensure a warm welcome to Turkish Airlines and exert all efforts to ensure commercial and operational success on this new route.
