Türkiye Refutes Claims of Vessel Presence Near Flotilla
Türkiye has denied allegations circulating on social media that Turkish commercial vessels were present near the Global Sumud Flotilla when it was under Israeli attack. The Presidential Communications Directorate labeled the claims a “perception management operation” intended to mislead the public, according to an official statement released on Thursday, October 2, 2025.
Trade Halt with Israel Cited as Evidence
The Presidential Communications Directorate emphasized that Türkiye wholly halted all export, import, and transit trade transactions with Israel as of May 2, 2024. The statement asserted, “since that date, no transactions destined for Israel have been registered in customs exit declarations or export declarations,” effectively arguing that Turkish commercial vessels would not have been in the area due to the trade embargo.
