The atmosphere between the candidates for mayor of São Paulo, José Luiz Datena (PSDB) and Pablo Marçal (PRTB) remains heavy. The two met again this Tuesday (17), during the Rede TV debate! This is the first time the opponents have come face to face after the episode when Datena threw a chair at Coach.
The provocations started immediately at the start of the debate. “In the last debate I finished my speech by saying that Datena is not a man, and here I confirm, he is not, he is an attacker”, began Marçal, who called Datena an “orangutan” and said that the chairman admitted was “attempted murder”.
“These chairs were screwed to the floor because he had an orangutan-like behavior, attempted murder, and I want to thank all the candidates here who were not supportive (after Datena’s aggressive behavior)”, said the businessman, directing the speech for Ricardo Nunes (MDB).
Marçal continued in a provocative tone against Nunes, asking for the intervention of presenter Amanda Klein. ”You’re going to be arrested for stealing money from a daycare center,” Marçal shouted.
Nuns shouted back, but it was not possible to understand what was said. The presenter then warned them both and asked for respect.
When he got the floor, Datena made a point of commenting on the episode of the opponent being thrown into a chair. “I hope, democratically, respect for democracy will guide this debate. I don’t know how to talk politically, I don’t know how to behave like a politician, I’m not happy at all with what happened in the last debate, but since I was a child my father taught me that I will have to honor my family until I die, and I am willing to do that,” he said.
After the attack, the benches on the Cultura TV stage, where the chair attack took place, were nailed to the floor.
