Shortly after, giovanna, experiencing similar symptoms, underwent testing and was diagnosed with the same type of thyroid cancer. According to the National Cancer Institute, papillary thyroid cancer is the most common type of thyroid cancer, and while generally treatable, a family history can increase risk.
